He and his wife Edna are amongst the only permanent residents of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The Korth’s first came to the attention of the world via James Campbell. In 2004, James published a book entitled “The Final Frontiersman: Heimo Korth and His Family, Alone in Alaska’s Arctic Wilderness.”This brought in executive producers from different TV channels who wanted to make a documentary on Heimo’s lifestyle.
