In the late 90s, in the midst of the dot com era, he felt dissatisfied with the greed in his surrounding and went to a homeless shelter with three friends to give with no strings attached. This moment should become life changing for the young man in his mid-twenties.
After creating a website for the homeless shelter, the joy of giving led him to start an organization called ServiceSpace, an incubator for gift economy projects. Since then, Nipun and his organization not only built thousands of websites for free, they also started several projects that developed into international movements, like Karma Kitchen, a pop-up-restaurant run by volunteers where the bill is always zero and people pay for their successors.
